Starfish flower granny square :)

GRANNY SQUARE DAY is here! yay!!!
this year I wanted to celebrate with new granny square pattern :)
celebrate with me & make one yourself ;)


This time I've made be step-by-step pics, just to show you how easy it actually is :)
Abbreviations used (US terms): 
Col - colour :)
ch - chain
sc - single crochet
fpsc - front post single crochet
hdc - half double crochet
dc - double crochet
htr - half treble crochet
tr - treble crochet
hdtr - half double treble crochet
dtr - double treble crochet
sl st - slip stitch
st(s) - stitch(-es)
ch sp - chain space
Flying ch - chain in the beginning of round, unattached to previous round ;)

Pattern:


Center of the flower
Round 1: Col A.
Magic ring, ch 4 (counts as tr). 19 tr in magic ring. Sl st in top of first tr. Fasten off.
(20 tr)

Background granny square
Round 2: Col B. (make first sc in any of the last rounds sts)
Flying *ch 1, sc next 2 sts. Ch 2, skip 1 st. Sc in next 2 sts.*
Repeat from * to * 3 more times. Sl st in first ch. Fasten off.
(12 ch, 16 sc)


Round 3: Col B. (ch 2 spaces will become grannysquare corners, written instructions )
Flying *ch 1, 3dc in ch 2 sp, ch 1. 3dc in ch 1 sp, ch 1. 3dc in ch 2 sp. ch 1.*
Repeat from * to * 3 more times. Sl st in first ch. Fasten off.
(16 ch, 36 dc)

Round 4: Col B. (make first sc in any of the last rounds sts)
Flying *ch 1, 3dc in ch 2 sp, ch 1. 3dc in ch 1 sp, ch 1. 3dc in ch 1 sp, ch 1. 3dc in ch 2 sp. ch 1.*
Repeat from * to * 3 more times. Sl st in first ch. Fasten off.
(20 ch, 48 sc)


NOTE: I did actually work these 3 rounds continuously, but I'm too sleepy to write them down accordingly .. but as it is simple granny from round 3 - you can make it as you always do ;)

Flower petals
Round 5: Col C.
Fpsc around each tr of first round, starting in any of the shipped tr's.
Sl st in first fpsc.
(20 fpsc)

Round 6: Col C.
Ch 1 (will not count).
* Sc, in next st. Hdc, dc in next st. Htr, tr in next st. Hdtr, dtr in next st. Ch 1, 6 sc over dtr we just made. *
Repeat from * to * 4 more times. Sl st in first sc. Fasten off.
(35 sc, 5 hdc, 5 dc, 5 htr, 5 tr, 5 hdtr, 5 dtr)
