& Here is a throwback to remind myself and all of you how, when and why I started with my obsession with letters :)
I am always amazed how the idea of something grows into something else .. and how fast time flies by ..
So a pattern for letter B
1st part: make letter P!
Pattern for letter P:
Row 1: Ch 5, on the third (and fourth) chain dc2tog, dc. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 2, on same (and next) st dc2tog, dc. Turn.
Repeat second row 8 times.
Row 11: Ch 2, on same (and next) st dc2tog, dc.
Row 12: Ch 2, dc2tog on previous rows last dc. Dc in the stitch where the previous rows last dc was made in. Turn.
Row 13: Ch 2, on same (and next) st dc2tog, dc. Turn.
Row 14: Ch 2, dc&hdc tog (dc in same st hdc in next), sc. Turn.
Row 15: Ch 1, sc, hdc, dc. Turn.
Repeat 14th and 15th row 4 more times.
Row 22: Ch 2, on same (and next) st dc2tog, dc. (join with 7th row, starting on a sp between 6th and 7th row and ending on sp between 7th and 8th row)
Fasten off.
(overall letter P consists of 22 rows)
Row 15: Ch 1, sc, hdc, dc. Turn.
Repeat 14th and 15th row 4 more times.
Row 22: Ch 2, on same (and next) st dc2tog, dc. (join with 7th row, starting on a sp between 6th and 7th row and ending on sp between 7th and 8th row)
Fasten off.
(overall letter P consists of 22 rows)
2nd part: add second belly to form a pretzel B!
Pattern:
Row 1 (start by knocking over letter P, pull yarn trough the first ch of P, work around dc of first row): Ch 2, dc2tog, dc in sp between 1st and 2nd row of P. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 2, on same (and next) st dc2tog, dc. Turn.
Row 3: Ch 2, dc&hdc tog (dc in same st hdc in next), sc. Turn.
Row 4: Ch 1, sc, hdc, dc. Turn.
Repeat 3rd and 4th row 1 more time.
Row 7: Ch 2, on same (and next) st dc2tog, dc. Turn.
Row 8: Ch 1, sc, hdc, dc. Turn.
Row 9: Ch 2, dc&hdc tog (dc in same st hdc in next), sc. Turn.
Row 10: Ch 1, sc, hdc, dc. Turn.
Row 11: Ch 2, on same (and next) st dc2tog, dc. (join with 19th row of letter P)Row 10: Ch 1, sc, hdc, dc. Turn.
Fasten off.
(overall letter B consists of 22+11 rows)
